Twinkling Fireworks Card

Happy New Year Everyone!

I’ve been saving my Twinkling effect sticker for a while and I am so happy to finally find the perfect stamp set for it. My card features a lion dancer with fireworks and I used the twinkling effect sticker to make a realistic firework display.

I first created all the pieces for my card by stamping the lion dancer from Mama Elephants Lion Dance stamp set and color it using red and yellow copic markers. Used my A2 sized stitched rectangle die and cut out a red and white panel for my card base. Then used a square die and cut out a window from my red panel. From the white panel I used my scissors and cut out a long rectangle opening towards the bottom of the piece for my effect sticker. Last I cut out a scalloped square frame from gold card stock.

To create my LED circuit I first stamp out where my fireworks will be and where each light should go onto my white panel and on my card base. While the images will be on the white panel, the light circuit itself will be on the card base. I mark where the path of the negative and positive copper tape and made sure to connect it to where my effect sticker will be.

I then placed down my copper tape onto my card base starting with where the LED lights are and leave a tail (not taped down) for the battery. The battery itself will be on top of the next panel and the copper tape tail will move up to the next level of this card.

Next, I tape down my white card panel over my card stock, making sure the holes I make for the lights are directly over the LED stickers. Now I finally tape down the negative and positive copper tape ‘tails’ down. The negative tape goes directly where the battery will be and the positive tape will go over and around a separate piece of paper that will cover the battery.

I then placed double layers of foam tape all around my card and tape down my red panel.

Add my gold frame and sentiment and last create a small pull me tab from white card stock 3/4” wide and stick it behind the battery to stop the connection when not in use.

I hope you enjoy this tutorial and here is a list of supplies I used:
