Hello Kelly here with a winter themed Birthday card. Chibitronics are a very fun way to embellish masculine tween cards. One of my favorite reasons to make greeting cards is being able to personalize the card for the recipient and my sons favorite animals are seals.
Supplies:
Chibitronics white LEDs and copper tape
Dies: Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Accents, Stitched Hillside Pop-up and Ocean Hillside Pop-up Add On.
Stamps: Lawn Fawn Critters in The Snow, So Much to Say and Push Here
Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil
Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste
Various Copic markers
Using the dies from Lawn Fawn I made the pop-card. The first thing I did was make the snowy background on a navy card base so that the embossing paste had time to dry. I colored the the seals and igloo using Copic markers and fussy cut them out. I used a piercing tool to make three holes in the snowy background for the lights to shine through. I set the pop up card ontop of a white card base and marked with a pencil through the holes to line up where to place the Chibitronic LEDs. I then built my circuit on the white card base. I wanted the copper tape to be sturdy over the fold so I double up tape on the fold lines by putting small pieces of copper tape on those two spots.
I adhered the white card with the circuit to the back of the pop up card. I used two layers of foam adhesive on the bottom half so that there was clearance the battery and tape runner to adhere the top half.
My son loved the card and was very impressed that I made it light up. Thank you for stopping by today.
