Hello, Kelly here today with a colourful card. Using Yupo and Alcohol inks in card making is very trendy at the moment. I used Ranger Alcohol Ink Blending Solution and Ranger Alcohol Inks on Yupo paper to create my background. I left the inks to dry overnight then stamped the images from Heffy Doodle’s stamp set “Geology Rocks”. I wanted the diamonds to light up on this card since the Yupo paper is translucent I used some fun foam to help with containing the light. I first held a piece of card stock in front of my stamped piece up to a light to mark where to place the white Chibitronic LED’s.
The stamped images shine through the card stock making it easy to figure out light placement. I then adhered a piece of fun foam to the back of the card stock and used the small Heffy Doodle diamond shaped dies to die cut diamond shapes in the foam and card stock.
I marked on another piece of card stock where I wanted to place the lights and made my circuit.
I adhered the fun foam on top of my circuit with foam tape. I also adhered a double layer of foam tape around the battery leaving the backing on the top layer of the tape. Adhering foam tape around the battery keeps the circuit from being completed until pressed because the copper tape on the top of the folded paper will not connect with the battery.
I adhered the front of my card on to the circuit and added a sentiment.
Without the die cut fun foam the lights would light up the entire card front. The sentiment is fantastic with the lights.
Thank you for stopping by.
