Hello! I have two tween sons and one of them is turning nine in a couple of weeks. Sometimes I struggle to think of card ideas for boys this age. A light up robot is perfect though for my soon to be nine year old. He is a lively kid so I made him a colorful card for his card. I stamped the robot and balloons (stamps from My Favorite Things) using a waterproof ink on Bristol cardstock. I then used Zig Real Color Brush Pens to color the images and moved the colour with water and a brush.
I made a simple circuit with three orange Chibitronic LEDs. When my son presses on the front of the card it will complete the circuit by having the positive connection connect with the battery. The sentiment was die cut using a fun die from Honey Bee Stamps. I adhered velum behind it and it doesn’t show well in the photo but the striped patterned paper is visible through the velum. I finished the card off with Nuvo Drops. The color on the balloons died bleed a little when I applied the Nuvo Drops, next time I may add the dimensional fluid to one balloon at a time letting it dry in-between. The “push here” stamp is from the handy Lawn Fawn Push Here stamp set available in the Chibitronics store.
Thank you for stopping by.
