Hi, crafty friends!
Daytime is getting shorter day by day.
We feel the sound of the coming holiday season.
So I have a Halloween card for you today.
When you open this card, the critters pop up!
Jack O Lanterns are glowing. Have a shivery shakey Halloween!
1. The Mechanism of Pop-Up
I use an interactive die, Bam Box Pop-up die, by Karen Burniston.
This mechanism uses the elastic band. The jumping-up motion can have a great effect.
You can use it to combine the interactive motion and light in your card.
Please check the assembly movie on the Karen Burniston site. It’s so creative.
2. The Circuit
I show you the circuit.
Pop up part
Pop-up critters have three LEDs. The circuit runs to the backside of the part.
The circuit runs on the pop-up part as shown below photo.
Then the conductive fabric tapes go through the slit of the panel to the backside.
Basement
The basement has a push switch with a battery.
I stuck the conductive fabric tape to connect the pop-up part and the battery.
Now the circuit is completed. When you push the flap on the battery, then the circuit is closed and the LEDs are light on.
3. Making the Scene
It’s a fun time!
I set the cover panel that wraps the pop-up panel.
I put the colored critter part on the circuit part. The Jack O Lantern’s eyes and mouth have a great effect.
I stuck the tree and sign on the backside of the pop-up mechanism.
The three-dimensional scene stretched my imagination.
You can enjoy this card in two ways.
The critters and mysterious light in the fog night with the cover panel.
And when you open the cover, the critters, the sign, and the tree pop up.
