Kelly here in hot and humid Houston, Texas. Doesn’t feel much like fall here so we rely on fall decorations and pumpkin spiced treats to remind us what time of year it is. With Halloween approaching I wanted to create a fun card using Chibitronics and stamps from Hello Bluebird. For inspiration I googled creepy Halloween night sky. I created a swirly looking sky by using Brushos and Colorburst powder on watercolor paper.
Once the Brushos were dry I added navy blue Gansai Watercolor on top. I splattered with some white acrylic paint for some stars. Once the background was dry I stamped the ghost and used an x-acto knife to cut it out. I then stamped the ghost and heat embossed in white on vellum. I taped a blank piece of white velum over the back of the cutout ghost then the embossed image under the vellum. The embossed image shoes when the LED light shines through. I also poked holes in the eyes of the jack-o-lanterns.
I planned and made my circuit on a separate piece of cardstock.
I circled the slider on the circuit. I used Eikos fabulous slider switch tutorial to make slider switches. When the recipient pulls the slider the circuit is completed and the Chibi lights turn on.
These stamped images from Hello Bluebird are too cute to be scary but do make a really fun Halloween card.
