Hello, I’m here with my first post of 2019. I made a pull tab card using the “Pull Tabs” dies from Waffle Flower and “North Star” stamp set from Hello Bluebird. I started by stamping the bear and rabbits on some tan colored paper from Canson for use with pastels. I colored the animals with Prismacolor pencils, blending the color with Gamsol and a paper stump. I fussy cut the animals and added some black Glaze pen to their noses (the ink from this gel pen dries raised and shiny). I heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of patterned paper from Altenew. I used a craft tool to pierce holes through three of the stars. I placed the card front on top of a layer of aqua card stock then marked throught the pierced holes. The marks help with placement of the LED lights so they shine through the stars. I then built my circuit. I ended up redoing my circuit as I cut the slit for the slider too wide. I was able to reuse the LED stickers. When I put them on the new correct circuit I pressed them down with a bone folder and added a second layer of copper tape over the connections on the sticker. The photo below is the incorrect circuit.
You want to keep the slit for the slider fairly narrow or the connection will not work well.
When the tab is pulled the bunny moves and the circuit is completed. I needed to put a second tab on the back of the bunny with copper tape on it that is the tab that completes the circuit. I learned how to make a pull tab slider from Design Team member, Eiko. Eiko has a fantastic instructional post here.
