Hi friends – Bri Firth here! Today, I am sharing a Halloween card with a witchy light up cauldron. This project was created with the Purrfectly Wicked Stamp Set from Lawn Fawn. This interactive card also features a Green Sticker Light and Conductive Fabric Tape from Chibitronics. For more details on how I created this spooky card keep reading below.
First I created the card backgrounds by cutting an A2 sized piece of black cardstock, die cutting a stitched scalloped rectangle from lime green cardstock, and cutting a 3.5″ x 4.75″ piece of light purple cardstock. Next, I used Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide ink with a brick stencil on the light purple cardstock to create a witch’s dungeon background.
I used my Copic markers to color the images and die cut them with the coordinating die set. I heat embossed the bubbles with silver embossing powder onto vellum so they were translucent and the light could shine through. I used a green Copic marker to give the potion a green tint. In the photo below you can see the light up mechanism in action.
In the photo below, you can see the circuit I created for this interactive card. I used a Green Sticker Light and Conductive Fabric Tape for this switch activated card. The switch was created with a scrap piece of green cardstock folded in half and glued onto the green base. I used double sided tape to adhere the battery in place. Since the circuit isn’t constantly active the battery won’t need to be swapped out for a while.
