Pop-Up Headless Horseman Card with Chibitronics LED Stickers

Hi! This is Kathy Ceceri and today I’m sharing the card I created for the LightUpPopUpTober challenge. My word was “attach,” and the design I came up with had the Headless Horseman attaching his pumpkin head to wish you a Happy Halloween.

It took a lot of work to get the moving pop-up design and the circuit to work together, so even though October is over I thought I’d show you how I did it. As you’ll see in the video below, it’s a little tricky to thread the conductive tape through the pop-up tab so it ends up hidden behind the inside layer, but the end effect is awesome. I’ve already got ideas for other pop-up designs I can make with this technique!

The template I created has five pages. I printed mine on colored paper to save time. Along with the black-and-white version, I’m sharing a colored version to make it easier to match the correct page to the layer in my sample.

You can watch the tutorial by clicking on the video below or go to the Chibitronics YouTube channel. If you give it a try, have fun!
