Hi, crafty friends!
This is Eiko and I make light up inside shadow box card using Chibitronics and Lawn Fawn stamps and dies.
When you open the card, the heart constellation glow.
I will make the parts referring to the picture below.
- Die cut the 5.5 x 8.25 inch vanilla malt cardstock for insert panel using the window die and score the lines at 0.25 inch, 4 inch, 4.5 inch from the left end.
- Score a line 4.25 inches from the left end of the 5.5 x 8 inch vanilla malt cardstock for the cover panel.
- 5.5 x 3.25 inch white cardstock for background.
- Small white cardstock for the window.
- Small white vellum for the constellation.
- Die cut chocolate bar cardstock using the window frame die.
- Acetate pull tab part (0.5 x 2 inch)
- Vanilla malt cardstock pull tab part (0.5 x 2.25 inch)
- Three switch part (0.5 inch square)
- Stamp two animals and the star onto white cardstock, color it with Copic markers and die cut.
- Using the ink blending tool and distress oxide ink, add in the color onto the white cardstock.
- Put the window frame on the colored cardstock, draw the outline of the frame and cut along the drawing line.
- Adhere the frame and the star on the colored cardstock.
- Place the window frame on the cover panel, stamp the sentiment on the cover panel.
- Stamp the constellations onto white cardstock using Versamark.
- Heat emboss the constellations with white embossing powder.
- Using the ink blending tool and distress oxide ink, add in the color onto the white cardstock.
- Put the colored cardstock on the inside of the cover panel, draw a line at the left end.
- Make the holes at the position of the lights.
- Draw the line 1/4 inch to the left from the center of the card.
- Draw the line 1 inch from the bottom of the card.
- Draw three lines at 1/4 inch intervals.
- Fold the vanilla malt cardstock pull tab part 1/4 inch from the left end.
- Put the fold line of the pull tab part to the line of the right half, and mark the tip of the pull tab. (Line A)
- Fold the card to 90 degrees, put the fold line of the pull tab part to the line of the left half, and mark the tip of the pull tab. (Line B)
- Draw a line 1/2 inch to the left from line B. (Line C)
- Between line A and C, make a 1mm wide slit with a craft knife.
- Mark the position of the Chibitronics and the battery.
- Draw the slit to pass the copper tape to the back side and cut it.
- Draw the circuit with a pencil.
- Make sure the positive side circuit crosses the left edge of the slit.
- Put the double-sided tape on the position of the battery.
- Adhere the copper tape on the drawing path.
- At the position of the battery, peel off the release paper, adhere the negative side copper tape, turn it back and cut it.
- At the position of the battery leave about 1 inch of positive side copper tape and cut it.
- Place the battery on the copper tape with the positive side up and adhere the positive side copper tape on the battery.
- Adhere the yellow Chibitronics on the mark.
- Make the switch part.
- Fold square parts in half and insert the switch part into the slit.
- Place the switch part on the left end of the slit and adhere the copper tape.
- Pull the switch part out of the slit and adhere copper tape around it.
- Insert the switch part into the slit and confirm that the LED turns on.
- Adhere the acetate pull tab part on the vanilla malt pull tab part.
- Put the double-sided tape on the pull tab part, adhere it at the marked position of the cover panel and on the switch part.
- Put the double-sided tape on 1/2 inch square part and adhere it on the backside of the switch part.
- Adhere vellum paper on the back of the colored cardstock.
- Put the double-sided tape on the backside of the colored cardstock and adhere it on the cover panel.
- Adhere the window frame and the animals on the insert panel.
- Put the double-sided tape on the edge of the insert panel.
- Put the foam tape on the inside of the insert panel.
- Adhere the insert panel on the cover panel.
I finished it!
