Hello Kelly Szafron with my April card to share. I have had the Lawn Fawn “Happy Easter” stamps for years now and still find myself using them almost every Easter.
I started out by doing some ink blending on a piece of light blue cardstock to create the background for the scene.
I diecut the grass from masking paper using the Lawn Fawn “Grassy Border” die. I covered the sky with the mask and blended green Distress Oxide ink over the bottom.
When I was done with the green I lined up the other half of the diecut masking paper to cover the green and removed the masking paper from the sky. I then ink blended blue Distress oxide for the sky. When I removed the masking paper covering the grass there was some small gaps were I didn’t line up the masks close enough so I used a ink blending marker to fill in some of the gaps by adding green ink.
I stamped the bunny on a seperate piece of paper. I like to use paper for pastels for coloring with pencils. I fussy cut the bunny and added him to the background. I stamped the tulips directly on the background. For the blooms I stamped the tulips again on the same paper I used for the bunny, fussy cut the flowers and adhered them over the stamped ones on the background so the yellow coloring would be vibrant. The eggs I stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed in white. I used an x-acto knife to cut out the centers. I taped a piece of velum behind the eggs and added color with Copic markers. I added another piece of velum behind the colored one and decorated the eggs with a white gel pen. My intention was that the decorations would show up when the Chibitronic LEDs. Were lit.
After the front was completed I planned and made the circuit.
I refer to Eiko’s excellent instructions for making a pull tab card. I held piece of cardstock over the cardfront up to some light so I could mark where I wanted the LEDs. I drew out my circuit. I used the Lawn Fawn “Lets Toast Pull Tab Add On Die” for the pull tab. The slit breaks the positive circuit. When the recipient pulls the tab the copper tape on the tab connest with the circuit and turns on the lights.
I adhered a bunch of foam tape around the circuit. I don’t want the card front crushed. Also I wanted the card to look tidy from the side. I finished the card off with some clouds cut from cardstock and velum using a die from Papersmooches. I also added some touches of Wink of Stella clear glitter and a layer of Lawn Fawn Patterned paper.
Have a Happy Easter weekend.
